Do you know what medication is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Medication use during pregnancy is lacking proper data. It’s time to join forces and empower women in making informed decisions!

Why is ConcePTION needed

5

million women get pregnant in the EU every year

90%

of pregnant women take medicine without knowing the consequences

≈5%

of available medications are monitored, tested and labelled with safety information

The initiative

ConcePTION is an EU-funded collaborative project, launched in April 2019, with over 88 diverse partners united from 22 countries, from civil society organisations to industry, academics, researchers and beyond, that aims to tackle the information gap in medicine use during pregnancy and breastfeeding across Europe.

The approach

To tackle the difficulty in finding reliable and consistent information we are bringing together women and their families, doctors, midwives, pharmacists and other healthcare providers. Our common goal is to develop better information and tools, based on reliable, accurate up-to-date, and evidence-based safety information, for women who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy or women who want to breastfeed their children.

Help us create something great.
